Still going. On 27 December 2025, after several consecutive days of outreach, our volunteers headed to familiar ground in Sham Shui Po โ Shun On Home for the Elderly โ for another Christmas party.
The team set up the room, prepared 44 Christmas care packages and tested the sound, and Shun On filled with red and green and a good deal of anticipation.
Once the residents were seated in their Christmas hats, the song-and-dance showcase began. The moment the music started, our most musical volunteers took the microphone and worked through one well-loved classic after another, while another group took to the front and danced.
Watching the volunteers give it everything, the residents were captivated and beaming. Plenty of them caught the mood and clapped and cheered along, until the home had turned into a concert hall.
After the singing and dancing, volunteers young and old worked together to hand each resident a bag of carefully chosen Christmas gifts. Watching the residents take them with those bright, easy smiles, and hearing them hold our hands and say "thank you LucaBridge, what a day", left every volunteer restored.
This was not only a party; it was proper company, with music and dancing removing whatever distance there might have been, and letting a bit of kindness settle into this community.
Our sincere thanks to all the staff at Shun On Home for the Elderly for their support and excellent cooperation, and our deepest respect to the LucaBridge volunteers who, despite a hard run of days, gave everything they had โ singing and dancing included. Thank you for lighting up Christmas in Sham Shui Po.
December's outreach is well and truly done. See you next time. ๐ฅ๐๐๐ค๐โจ
