This was a day worth marking. On 4 September 2025 LucaBridge's free Chinese medicine clinic โ long in the planning โ opened for the first time.
The idea behind this new programme is to bring professional, attentive healthcare directly into the community, for residents and elderly people who may not otherwise get the chance to look after their health properly. For a first session the mood was both serious and warm. We were fortunate to have the full support of professional Chinese medicine practitioners, who arrived early to set up and offered free pulse diagnosis, health consultations and advice on staying well.
The practitioners were thorough and gentle throughout, taking pulses and examining tongues while explaining what they found in plain language and advising on what to eat and what to avoid. Watching the elderly residents leave their consultations looking reassured, thanking the practitioners and volunteers on the way out, was hard to put into words.
A clinic like this is not only about diagnosis; it is a practical form of care for people whose health can easily go unattended. Our deepest respect to the professional practitioners who gave everything on day one, and full credit to the attentive volunteers who worked alongside them. Because of you, our first day ran smoothly and felt like something.
The clinic is now properly under way, and we intend to keep looking after more people's health from here. ๐๐ฟ๐ฉบ
