On the eve of Yu Lan Festival, a day given over to remembrance and gratitude, our volunteer team headed to Wah Yuen Noodles in Yuen Long for a care package distribution with a considerable line-up behind it.
First and most importantly, our thanks to the Lung family and Wui Kong International Trading Company for their generous sponsorship. Because of their support we were able to prepare 150 well-stocked care packages of health items and everyday essentials.
The real surprise of the day was the arrival of two well-known volunteers: Yan Chin-man and Tsang Man-sum came in person to help. Neither stood on ceremony for a moment. They folded straight into the LucaBridge family and worked alongside our regular volunteers. The residents of Yuen Long could hardly believe it, and the mood went up several notches. Both of them smiled their way through the whole afternoon, handing over heavy packages by hand, steadying elderly residents on their feet, chatting with them and offering their festival greetings.
The residents took their packages beaming, holding on to the volunteers' hands with praise for everyone. Watching those satisfied faces and hearing thank you after thank you, our volunteers โ who had spent the day shifting supplies and sweating through it โ knew exactly why they had come.
Our sincere thanks again to the Lung family and Wui Kong International Trading Company for their sponsorship, to Wah Yuen Noodles for their full cooperation, and to Yan Chin-man and Tsang Man-sum for giving their time so generously. And full credit, as always, to every volunteer who keeps showing up. ๐ฅ๐๐
