As August drew to a close, on 30 August 2025, our volunteer team headed to a busy Lung Hei. We had 400 well-filled care packages of health items and everyday essentials ready, and a weekend greeting to go with them.
The best part of the day was how many new volunteers had joined us, bringing a fresh burst of energy to the team. The turnout was as strong as ever, with elderly residents queuing early.
Although the new volunteers were with us for the first time, every one of them slotted straight in. The work divided itself up, experienced hands showed newcomers the ropes, and between moving supplies, laying out packages and keeping the queue orderly, you would have thought they had all worked together for years. When new and old volunteers handed packages over together with a warm greeting, the satisfied smiles that came back were the best encouragement this team could ask for. Watching the new volunteers sweating and grinning at the same time, having discovered that helping people is its own reward, the warmth in that place went right up.
Our respect to every volunteer who gave their time and effort — and a particularly loud welcome to our new volunteer family. Thank you for choosing to walk alongside LucaBridge and for spreading a little more goodwill through what you did. Our thanks too to Lung Hei for their full support and for hosting us.
