On 12 July 2025 our volunteer team headed into Shui Pin Wai Estate in Yuen Long, with generous support from Sing Gor Bing Sutt, for a care package distribution that was as warm as it was down to earth.
It was a hot weekend, but nothing next to the warmth of the residents who turned out. A queue formed outside the bing sutt early on. Our volunteers were on good form and quickly fell into a rhythm, filling and handing over 150 care packages of everyday health items and useful food to each elderly resident who came.
As they handed the packages over, the volunteers chatted with residents and asked after them. There was laughter throughout, and a real sense of neighbourliness running through the estate. Seeing the satisfaction on people's faces as they took their packages, and hearing all those kind words of thanks, made every drop of sweat worth it.
