Charity was never only about events; it is about turning up consistently. On 23 May 2026 we were honoured to be invited by Southern District councillors Mr Wong Choi-lap and Mr Cheung Wai-nam to join the Southern District Care Team for a full round of household visits.
It was a hot day, but our volunteers arrived in uniform and got straight into it. Working alongside the Care Team with registration lists in hand, we made our way through the estates and blocks of the Southern District.
At every household the volunteers gave it their full attention — handing over practical gifts, then sitting down beside the residents and the elderly people living alone and talking like family, listening carefully to how they had been eating, sleeping and managing, and updating each person's details as we went. "How have you been keeping? Is the flat comfortable? We've come round with the district councillors and the Care Team to see how you are."
That greeting was heard at one front door after another. Whatever residents raised about their circumstances, we wrote down carefully, building as complete a picture of the neighbourhood's needs as we could, so that supplies and social resources reach exactly the right people later on.
Watching the residents go from surprise to something much easier once they felt what LucaBridge and the Care Team had actually come for, and hearing them hold our hands and say "thank you to the councillors, thank you to the Care Team, and thank you especially to these young people from LucaBridge for climbing all those flights to see us" — that took the ache out of a day of stairs and heat entirely.
A loud thank you to Southern District councillors Mr Wong Choi-lap and Mr Cheung Wai-nam for the invitation and for their confidence in us; thank you for building a platform solid enough to let us serve the Southern District properly. Our sincere thanks too to every member of the Southern District Care Team for their support and easy cooperation; what you do sets the standard for looking after a community. And our warmest respect to every member of the LucaBridge family who worked through the heat.
Nothing about people's daily lives is a small matter. 🔥🎒🏡📋❤✨
