Straight on from the day before. On 2 October 2025, in the middle of the National Day and Mid-Autumn period, our volunteers assembled again — this time back at Wah Yuen Noodles in Yuen Long, for a large distribution of meals, care packages and mooncakes.
Two days of this in a row was possible thanks once again to the Lung family's continued sponsorship. With their backing, a steady supply of good festival mooncakes reached the front line, which meant our care packages went out heavier and better than planned, and the residents of Yuen Long got a double helping of the season.
A queue formed outside Wah Yuen Noodles early that afternoon, residents and elderly neighbours in good spirits. Our volunteers arrived in uniform and got straight into it, forming a very efficient line. Between them they handed over 150 hot meal boxes prepared by Wah Yuen Noodles, along with the mooncakes sponsored by Wai Kee Trading and care packages of health items, to each person who came.
"Happy Mid-Autumn and happy National Day! Get a hot meal in you — and stay well!" The greetings kept the laughter going across the whole neighbourhood. Watching the satisfaction on people's faces as they took a hot meal and a mooncake, and hearing "thank you LucaBridge, thank you everyone" over and over, our volunteers — arms aching, thoroughly sweaty — were flying.
A loud thank you to the Lung family for their generosity and to Wah Yuen Noodles for their full support and for preparing the food, and our deepest respect to the LucaBridge volunteers who gave up two consecutive days of holiday to be there.
Because you keep at it, the festivals here have some warmth to them. October is only getting started. 🔥🎒🥮🍱
