A milestone of a day. On 12 October 2025 our volunteers arrived somewhere new, working for the first time with Tai Fung Sau Cha Chaan Teng in Yuen Long. The restaurant's name means "a great harvest", and that was exactly the intention: a good harvest for the residents of Yuen Long, in food and in spirits alike.
For a first collaboration the atmosphere was excellent. Everyone at Tai Fung Sau went all in, carefully preparing 100 hot, fragrant meal boxes, while LucaBridge brought care packages of health items and everyday essentials — between us, a proper injection of weekend goodwill into the neighbourhood.
Word that this was our first outing together brought people out early, and a queue formed well before we began. Our volunteers arrived in uniform and got straight into it — moving supplies, portioning meal boxes, keeping order — working with the restaurant's staff as if they had done it many times before.
When the volunteers handed a hot meal and a well-filled care package to each elderly resident with a warm greeting, the surprise and relief on people's faces was the best verdict on our debut we could have had. Watching a whole neighbourhood fill with laughter because we turned up, the aching arms stopped mattering.
Our most sincere thanks to the owner and all the staff of Tai Fung Sau Cha Chaan Teng for their support and their perfect cooperation, which began something worth continuing. And full credit to the LucaBridge volunteers who worked through it without complaint.
